Hudspeth was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 0.55. Along the way he struck out 18 in 16.1 innings. He hurled a shutout as well. His ERA of 1.96 helped him to a 6-3 record this year. He struck out 72 and walked 23 in 64.1 innings. Robert has pitched 2 shutouts and 3 complete games. He's 1st in the Executive League in ERA and 2nd in wins! Darryl Strawberry from Disney wins his 13th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Capitalist League. In 24 at bats he hit .417 with 5 HR and 9 RBI. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! | Saturday 5/14/1994: IBM's Silvera severely injured IBM - IBM's second baseman Manuel Silvera hurt himself in the 8th inning while making a routine throw to first base. He experienced serious pain and had to leave the game. Manuel Silvera will miss at least 8 weeks. Silvera was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Broken Elbow. Silvera has hit for a .274 average this season. He has 10 extra base hits along with 56 total bases, resulting in a .452 slugging percentage. | Friday 5/13/1994: Season ending injury strikes Kellogg's Alomar KELLOGG - Kellogg's second baseman Roberto Alomar will miss the rest of the season. He injured himself running the bases in the game between Kellogg and MGM. The injury didn't seem to be serious the moment it happened. But suddenly Alomar collapsed in pain and had to be carried off the field. After being taken to a local hospital, Alomar was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Thigh Muscle. Alomar has hit 2 longballs this year while batting .306. He adds 9 doubles, along with 23 runs scored. | Friday 5/13/1994: Brad Cornett out for 6 weeks APPLE Apple Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Bone Chips Shoulder which will require surgery. In 3 starts this year Brad struck out 14 batters in 19.1 innings of work. His ERA is 6.05, his record 0-2. |

Executive League pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Mack helped his team with an average of .481 and 14 RBI in 27 at bats. Shane has gone 58 for 136 (.426) this season, hitting 13 bombs and driving in 46 runs. He has scored 37 runs on his own. He's 3rd in the Executive League in batting, 4th in homeruns and 2nd in RBI! B.j. Surhoff wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Capitalist League pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. He hit .423 with 10 RBI and slugged .885 in 26 at bats. | GDY: Luke Chick was injured while pitching. Diagnosis: Sore Shoulder. He is day-to-day, but full recovery will take 1-2 weeks. Next sim is thursday, along with the first 6 pick of the dr4aft please give your opinion on the ootp9 question in the forums Monday 4/18/1994: Villalon (UP) and Vaughn (SHL) win P.O.W. award The Executive League Player of the Week award goes to Sebastian Villalon, Union Pacific's starting first baseman. He hit .538 with 13 RBI and slugged 1.346 in 26 at bats. Sebastian managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. Shell's leftfielder Greg Vaughn had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Capitalist League Player of the Week. He hit .367 with 10 RBI and slugged .800 in 30 at bats. While compiling an on base percentage of .361, Greg hit .328 and slugged .741. He has collected 15 runs batted in this year. He's 7th in the Capitalist League in RBIs and 4th in homeruns! | Friday 4/15/1994: Sebastian Villalon nabs five hits against Nike NIKE - Union Pacific's first baseman Sebastian Villalon once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Nike's pitching staff with a 5 hit performance on Friday. In the 3rd inning he unloaded a triple off Wayne Marroquin. A 383 foot drive to right field marked his 4th hit, a solo homerun off Curtis Feuerstein in the 8th inning. He had singles in the 5th , in the 6th inning (one RBI) and in the 9th inning (one RBI). Sebastian did drive in 3 while scoring 3 runs on his own. He's having a very good season so far, batting .531. Union Pacific scored 15 runs on 17 hits.

In 31 at bats he hit .484 with 4 HR and 14 RBI. Eric Davis from Halliburton wins his 3rd Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Capitalist League. In 27 at bats he hit .444 with 4 HR and 11 RBI. | Sunday 5/1/1994: Darryl Strawberry stars with 500th career homerun CITZENSBANKPARK - Disney's rightfielder Darryl Strawberry was in good mood after the game against Citzensbankpark, and he had every reason as he made baseball history while collecting his 500th career homerun. Perhaps his best year so far was 1990 where he hit .339 with 60 homeruns and 167 RBI. Darryl hit 30+ homeruns in a season 11 times, hitting 40 bombs 9 times. 'Baseball is a great game, and adding something to it's history is smething I've always wanted. What a great day!' A 351 foot drive to right field marked his 500th career bomb, a two-run homerun off Matthew Fox in the 9th inning. He struck out 33 hitters in his 5 starts, putting together a record of 4-0 while pitching 33 innings. His ERA in April was 2.19. Coca Cola's George Dull had a terrific April, and it earned him the Capitalist League Pitcher of the month award. He started 6 games in April, going 4-0 and compiling an ERA of 1.14 in 47.1 innings. George fanned 57 hitters. | Sunday 5/1/1994: Batter of the Month award winners announced The Executive League's best player of the month was Marlboro's Larry Walker, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Larry was on fire, hitting .375 with 19 homeruns and 41 RBI. The Capitalist League's best player of the month was Schlumberger's Matt Stairs, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Stairs helped his team with an average of .402 and 28 RBI in 97 at bats. | Friday 4/29/1994: Charlie Kerfeld blanks Citzensbankpark with a 2-hitter CITZENSBANKPARK - Disney's right-hander Charlie Kerfeld will never forget this day. The 30-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Citzensbankpark on Friday. Kerfeld (3-0) fanned 5 and walked 4, throwing 123 pitches. 'Winning is the most important thing. And I gave my team all the support it needed!' Travis Fryman helped Kerfeld at the plate, he went 2 for 3, blasting a homerun, scoring two runs with 2 RBI. Disney improved its record to 12-13, scoring 7 runs on 11 hits. | Tuesday 4/26/1994: Eric Davis clubs five hits in a game HEALTHSOUTH - Eric Davis saw the ball really well, leading Halliburton to a 16-5 win over Healthsouth. His five hits thrilled his teammates and coaches, and Eric seemed happy as well after the game. His 1st hit was a double off Fernando Valenzuela in the 1st inning. His 2nd hit was a two-run double off Fernando Valenzuela in the 2nd inning. In the 4th inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Fernando Valenzuela. Monday 4/11/1994: Villalon and Sanchez win Player of the Week award Sebastian Villalon from Union Pacific wins his 8th Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Executive League. Sebastian was on fire, hitting .536 with 5 HR and 11 RBI. The Player of the Week award in the Capitalist League goes to Coca Cola's Leon Sanchez this time, as the leftfielder displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .419 and hit .379, while driving in 18 runs. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 7 games. | Friday 4/8/1994: Harley Davidson's Robin Ventura clears fence three times COCA COLA - Robin Ventura was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered Harley Davidson to a 12-10 win over Coca Cola by homering three times. Number 1 in the 1st inning, a shot estimated at 341 feet, cleared the wall in right field. In the 3rd inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Billy Taylor. His 3rd shot, off Raymond Crownover in the 9th inning, was a solo homerun and cleared the fence in left-center. Overall he went 3 for 5, scoring three times with 5 RBI. |
